Preparing for your Visit

We strongly recommend leaders visit Manor Farm prior to bringing their group. Please arrange this with our Visits Co-ordinator when confirming your booking. This visit is free of charge for your Group Leader.

It is, of course, your responsibility to ensure that your visit is properly planned and supervised, but as guidance to help you prepare your own Risk Assessment click here for our general version.

Group Visits for All Ages

Why Manor Farm is a Great Venue for a Group Visit

Manor Farm has over 15 years experience of hosting group visits

Over that time its reputation for excellence has grown along with the facilities the farm can offer. The Farm and its staff have achieved CEVAS award (Countryside Educational Visits Accreditation Scheme).

If you are planning a day of leisure or a day with activities linked to your curriculum, Manor Farm has many options to choose from here.

The Farm is within easy travelling distance from Nottingham, Derby and Leicester. There is free parking space for coaches (by arrangement).

What do we get as a Group?

All children’s group visits to Manor Farm are greeted and co-ordinated by a member of our Visits Team.

You will be offered a ‘base room’ close to the Play Barn for use during your visit for bags, snacks, picnics, etc. Hand washing facilities and toilets are nearby. Refreshments are available from the Gallery Tea Bar (next to the Play Barn).

(April 2016) Group admission: £7.50 plus VAT per child/adult includes: *Coach Parking *Guided time *Base Area *Animal & Owl Viewing *Indoor & Outdoor Adventure Play *Lake & Nature Trail *Picnic Areas.

1 adult FREE with every 6 children plus FREE entry for your Group Leader – additional adults charged as above. Under 2’s are FREE (do not count towards ratios).

A FREE leader’s site visit in preparation for your visit.

The day can be planned however you wish, and will depend on your group size, ages and what you feel is best for them and you. It can be organised so that everyone gets a go at everything, such as indoor and outdoor play, with time to explore the Farm Centre and our woodland, lake and nature trail.  In addition there are a number of exciting organised activities you can book.

ANIMAL, BIRD & REPTILE CHAT ROOM : KS1 & KS2 CURRICULUM DAYS
FOREST SCHOOLS : CHRISTMAS (Nativity & Santa) & PIRATE DAYS

For children of school age your guide will take members of your group on a Farm Walk to introduce the animals to them and tell their stories with some fascinating facts. For pre-school and Nursery children they will get an Interactive Animal Fun Time, these are all included in your group costs.

Ask about our Learning Outside the Classroom options

Your day will be planned to take account of the weather and some activities can be undercover if necessary.

Every child in your group will be given a free pass for a
future visit to Manor Farm, perhaps with Mum or Dad

Specialised Events and Courses

In addition to our normal group activities we run a series of specialised events and courses aimed at the professional and with a curriculum focus.

These include full-day Woodland & Forest Schools, Teddy Bears Picnics, School/Year activity days, and In-Service Training for Teacher/Practitioner and Family Learning & Play sessions, and open afternoons for teachers.
