Falconry Displays & Experiences

Experience the thrill of watching birds of prey right here on the farm!

Hawks & Squawks is our falconry centre. Weather permitting, visitors can enjoy exciting flying demonstrations and hands-on experiences with our magnificent birds of prey.

  • Daily falconry displays. Watch our expert falconers in action at 1pm every day (included in your admission).
  • Extra weekend and holiday shows. Catch an additional display at 11:30am on weekends and during school holidays.
  • Private Birds of Prey Encounters. Get up close with our birds in an exclusive 3pm experience (£30 per person, pre-booking required).

We do everything we can to ensure activities are available as advertised but it is not always possible. To avoid disappointment, please phone ahead to see what is available on the day you plan to visit: 01509 852525.

Find us at Manor Farm Park & Woodlands in East Leake (LE12 6LU), which is easily accessible from Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire, and Derbyshire.

Daily Flying Demonstrations

Our 15-minute flying displays take place daily at 1pm, with an additional morning show at weekends and during school holidays at 11.30am.

Join us at Hawks & Squawks as one of our birds of prey showcases their talents. Learn some fun facts about these impressive birds and take a seat as a bird of prey flies over your head.

For safety reasons, once the show has started, we ask you not to leave your seat. Please also be aware that our birds are fed on chicks produced especially for birds of prey, which some visitors may not wish to see.

All displays and experiences are weather permitting. In the event of poor weather, we will usually offer an undercover meet and greet opportunity in the falconry mews, opposite the flying field.

Private Falconry Encounters

Our falconry encounters offer a memorable opportunity to handle three of our incredible birds of prey.

The session begins by learning how to properly fit a falconer’s glove and perfect your hand position, both with and without a bird. Observe each bird being weighed and get to know a bit about their unique traits before a telemetry transmitter is attached and you head out to our flying field.

Discover the verbal cues we use to communicate with our birds of prey and experience each species showcasing its natural abilities:

- Val the Vulture will expertly eat food from your hand.

- Luna the Barn Owl gracefully glides between two people holding hands.

- Roo the Harris Hawk demonstrates her agility by chasing a simulated rabbit.

- And our White-Faced Owl, Bengal Eagle Owl, Caracara, American Kestrel and European Kestrel will eagerly land on your fist in exchange for a tasty morsel of meat.

If there’s a specific bird you’d love to handle, please give details when you make your booking. We can’t guarantee availability in advance as our birds participate based on their willingness and moulting status on the day and, for younger participants, we will always select smaller birds based on their weight.

This immersive experience offers a deep appreciation for these magnificent birds of prey, with plenty of opportunities for photographs.

  • Session time: 45 minutes.
  • Availability: 3pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.
  • Price: £30 per person (minimum of two people, maximum six).
  • Admission price: Varies by date. Cost shown above is in addition to the price of general admission for each person in the group.
